Frequently asked

Common questions,
answered honestly.

The questions we get asked most often before an engagement starts. If yours isn’t here, get in touch — we’d rather give you a useful answer than have you guess.

Three pillars that describe how the work fits together. Integrate is the connecting work — designing the right tech stack, linking your platforms cleanly, and remediating data quality so every system shares a single source of truth. Illuminate is the seeing work — surfacing margin, capital position, pipeline, and performance into live dashboards and automated executive briefings. Automate is the doing-itself work — replacing manual workflows with sequences that execute reliably, recovering your team’s capacity for work that needs judgement.

The pillars are sequential by necessity. Nothing useful gets illuminated until your data is integrated and trustworthy. Nothing meaningful gets automated until you can see what should be running itself. Most engagements draw on all three, scoped after discovery. If you’re not sure which pillar would have the biggest impact in your business first, the diagnostic takes about 30 seconds.

Usually not. We design solutions around tools you already have access to wherever possible. When new tools are needed, we recommend lean, cost-effective options that deliver the same — or better — capability than enterprise alternatives at a fraction of the price. We work within your budget, not around it.

We don’t start with a preferred platform list — we start with your requirements and your budget. Using AI-augmented research, we evaluate the most cost-effective modern tools that fit your specific use case, then validate those options with experienced practitioners before making a recommendation.

If you’re already running platforms you want to keep, we assess those first and build around them where it makes sense.

It depends on scope and which pillars are involved. An Illuminate build — data pipeline, dashboards, and automated executive reporting — typically takes 4–8 weeks. An Integrate engagement with CRM cleansing and platform connection is usually 2–4 weeks. An Automate build for a specific workflow sequence is typically 2–3 weeks.

Combined engagements that span multiple pillars are scoped accordingly. Everything is scoped upfront so there are no surprises on timeline or cost.

We work on fixed-price engagements scoped after a discovery session. Costs vary by scope and complexity. The best starting point is a conversation — we can usually give you a realistic ballpark within the first call, and we’ll tell you honestly if a project isn’t the right fit.

Yes — completely. We build on platforms you control, document everything thoroughly, and train your team to operate the system independently. You’re not reliant on us to keep things running.

We stay available for ongoing support and future builds, but that’s always your choice.

Yes — and it’s a core part of the Integrate pillar. We begin with a data quality audit to identify the issues that silently distort every report downstream: wrong cost data, pricing inconsistencies, duplicate records, and product master gaps. We trace the full impact and deliver a prioritised remediation plan.

Data quality is also an ongoing process — as we build deeper into your systems, new findings often surface. Nothing useful gets illuminated until the data behind it is sound.

Often, yes. Where there’s an existing IT function or development team, we work alongside them — sharing documentation, scoping the boundaries clearly, and ensuring our build integrates cleanly with what they’re responsible for. We’re not interested in turf wars; we’re interested in delivering the outcome.

That’s the most common starting point. Most clients arrive knowing something isn’t working — manual reporting taking too long, gut-feel decisions on capital allocation, suspicions that data quality is off — without knowing exactly what the fix is. Discovery is designed for exactly this. We map your systems, surface the gaps, and tell you honestly what we’d build first and why.

If you’d like a quicker sense of where we’d start, try the diagnostic — it’ll give you a useful starting point in under a minute.
